Our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program is designed for children turning five between August and March. TK provides an ideal bridge for children who are ready for more than traditional shorter preschool hours but may not yet be fully prepared—developmentally or age‑wise—for a full kindergarten program. This extra year supports kindergarten readiness by giving young learners time to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment.

We are the only nursery school in the Garden City area that is both licensed by the OCFS (Office of Children and Family Services), which governs safety, and registered with the NYSED Early Learning Department -our curriculum aligns with state learning standards, using Fundations (what is used in Kindergarten in most primary schools).

Incorporating our play-based learning philosophy and focus on whole-child development, our TK curriculum builds essential early-learning foundations. Children strengthen skills in early literacy and math, social and emotional development, communications and important life skills such as executive functioning and self regulation. This well-rounded approach ensures that students enter kindergarten with confidence, independence and strong readiness skills.
